2011: a year of revolution and rebellion

In 2011 people across the world put revolution back on the agenda. Here are some highlights. From overthrown dictators to deputy prime ministers assaulted with yoghurt, it’s all here.

Note:
(1) the video was originally compiled for an audience in Melbourne, Australia, hence the occasional and possibly odd-looking sequences of the small but important protests in our little city
(2) it was edited in early December, so it misses some of the great developments in the last few weeks of 2011 (eg. the mass pro-democracy protests in Moscow, the climax of the rebellion in the Chinese village of Wukan, and the latest developments in the ongoing Arab revolutions).
